Take yourself back to a time when life seemed so less complicated. Before dot com, When Filmmaker John Hughes was king and coming of-age movies ruled the box office. When a persons biggest dilemma was how to solve the Rubiks cube. The time were talking about is the 1980s. A period of new romanticism, When MTV was brand new and was actually dedicated to music videos. On the day it aired The Buggles Video killed the radio star the world changed, and that definitive moment set the course for a decade of great music to follow. That is what RIDGEMONT HIGH is recapturing. With the 80s resurgence in full swing; the huge success of Time-Life box set, Rhino records complete 80s songs, and VH1s I LOVE THE 80s it seems obvious why RIDGEMONT HIGH decided to cover nothing but songs from the 1980s. Songs people remember and love. It is so much fun to play a song like Always something there to remind me and just watch a party break out. The dance floor fills and the audience sings along. Its magical. I wanted to put a band together that played songs that I loved, with musicians that shared the same feelings that I had about the music. That way, you never get tired of performing. And you notice this seeing us live. Explains Keith Kozak bassist and founder of RIDGEMONT HIGH. I especially like seeing peoples reactions when they hear us do one of their favorites. Theyre so shocked that theyre able to see a live band, in a club, doing 80s tunes. Instant gratification. says Thom Sacco lead vocalist. At a time when it seems like all cover bands are doing the same thing, Ridgemont High' is STILL unique. And their longevity is a testament to their talent. Whether it be the edgy songs from the Clash or Billy Idol, the pop sounds of the Cars or Squeeze, or the uniqueness of Devo and Flock of Seagulls, this band takes you on a New-wave time-warp back to the 1980s. Imagine reliving all the fun of that decade... in one night.!! RIDGEMONT HIGH is a group of musicians who have been playing together for over 11 years. Its members have been on MTV, opened for Bon-Jovi, toured the entire eastern seaboard, won first place in numerous battle of the bands contests and have had songs they have written played regularly on radio stations throughout the country. Thom Sacco - lead vocals Keith Kozak - bass and vocals Rich Lancia - guitar and vocals Tom Kozak - guitar and vocals Tim Oneill - drums and high vocals Larry Town - keyboards
WEDDING TESTIMONIAL Our wedding guests are still raving about Ridgemont High, with many telling us it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding reception. Everyone flooded the dance floor at the start of the first song and never left. We danced and sang along to our favorite 80's tunes until our feet ached and our voices were hoarse and stopped only because the site had to close for the night. Keith and the band are easy to work with and very professional, helping us plan a great song list and being flexible to accommodate our needs. More than your typical wedding band, they are high energy and know how to work a crowd to make sure everyone has a good time (without having to resort to the YMCA or Macarena). We would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to have a fun and memorable wedding reception.
